Changing the registered office

You move your company to a new address, in the same town or another county. We prepare the documents, you sign once and we file with the Trade Register.

1When you need to move the registered office

  • The rental or loan-for-use agreement for the current address is ending.
  • You sell or leave the home where the registered office was.
  • The company moves to another town or county.
  • You want to separate the office from your home or, the other way round, bring it home.

The registered office must always be covered by a valid document for the premises. If it expires and you don't move or extend it, the Trade Register keeps outdated details for your company.

2Same county or another county

  • Same county: the file goes to your county's Trade Register. The company keeps its registration number and CUI.
  • Another county: the file goes to the Trade Register of the new county. The company gets a new registration number (J), but the CUI stays the same.

You don't need to travel to the new county. We file online, anywhere in Romania.

3The steps

  1. We check the premisesWe look at the document for the new premises and its duration. It must be valid for as long as you declare the office there.
  2. We draft the documentsThe partners' resolution (or sole partner's decision) and the updated articles of association with the new address.
  3. You signYou sign the documents once: at the office, or with an electronic signature or by courier. We work with companies from all over Romania.
  4. We file the applicationWith the Trade Register of the county of the new office, and we follow it up.
  5. You receive the certificateThe registration certificate with the new registered address.

  • Title deed or rental agreement for the new premises. We draft the loan-for-use agreement (comodat).
  • ID cards of the partners and the director
  • The company's registration certificate

5After the move

  • Tell your bank, partners and utility providers.
  • Update the address on invoices, contracts, your website and, if it shows the address, your company stamp.
  • The Trade Register passes the change on to ANAF. Your accountant tells you if any extra tax form is needed.

Does the CUI change when I move the office?

No. The CUI stays the same, even if you move to another county.

Does the Trade Register number change?

Only if you move to another county. Within the same county it stays the same.

Can I move the office to my flat?

Usually yes, with the title deed or rental agreement. If the home belongs to someone else, we draft a loan-for-use agreement.

Can I move to another county without going there?

Yes. We file online with the new county's Trade Register. You sign from home.

How long does it take?

Once the complete file is submitted, the Trade Register usually resolves it within a few working days.

How much does it cost?
