1Do you need a company?
As a private individual you can rent out only a limited number of rooms to tourists. Above that limit the activity must be organised as a PFA, sole proprietorship or SRL. The limits and taxation have changed several times in recent years, so at the consultation we check exactly what applies to you.
- A few rooms, as an individual: you may not need a company, but you have other tax obligations.
- Several flats: usually a PFA, sole proprietorship or SRL is needed.
- With partners or staff (cleaning, reception): an SRL is usually the right choice.
2CAEN code and permits
- 5520: “Holiday and other short-stay accommodation”, the code used for flats rented to tourists.
- The classification certificate from the tourism authority, for each accommodation unit, before you offer it to tourists.
- Each flat where you host tourists is usually registered as a place of business of the company.
